Understanding the Holiness of Divine Wrath

The wrath of God is often misunderstood as a cosmic hammer used in tragedies or shrunk down to earthly proportions over minor inconveniences. Because God is purely holy, our sin is fundamentally offensive to His very nature. This lesson clarifies that God is not just a "Nice Guy" indifferent to evil; in fact, a God without wrath is essentially a "God without teeth". Furthermore, we discover how His perfect perspective and absolute impartiality make Him infinitely better at vengeance than we could ever be. Ultimately, understanding God's wrath magnifies the beauty of the cross, revealing how Christ satisfied absolute justice so we could receive boundless grace. Let us honor Him by turning from sin and leaving vengeance in His capable, holy hands.
