Search Me, Break Me, Send Me – Opening Our Hearts to God’s Transformative Work
In this session we begin with a time of heartfelt prayer requests and health updates, giving thanks for answered prayers (including successful surgeries) and lifting up educators, grieving families, and those facing financial hardship. Avery then leads us into the core of Dangerous Prayers by exploring three powerful and life-changing prayers: “Search me,” “Break me,” and “Send me.” We discuss the privilege baptized believers have of direct access to God through Jesus and why inviting God to search and examine our hearts—much like consulting the manufacturer of a car—is essential for genuine spiritual growth. The group openly shares personal struggles with anxiety, surrender, and past challenges, highlighting how prayer moves us from self-reliance to complete dependence on God. This lesson challenges us to move beyond safe, comfortable prayers and dare to ask God to expose what needs changing, break what holds us back, and send us wherever He chooses.
