Running the Race: Perseverance, Holiness, and the New Covenant
This lesson provides an in-depth exploration of Hebrews 12, urging believers to remain faithful despite social, economic, and religious pressures. We examine the "cloud of witnesses" as inspiration to throw off every weight and fix our focus squarely on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. A central theme is the role of divine discipline, which we should embrace not as punishment, but as providential training that produces holiness and righteousness. The study also contrasts the terrifying imagery of the Old Covenant at Mount Sinai with the grace-filled access granted through the New Covenant at Mount Zion. Finally, we are challenged to strengthen the weak among us and live with a reverent awe of God’s unshakable kingdom. By the end of this study, you will be equipped to reframe your current trials as opportunities for spiritual growth and persistent obedience.
