The Supremacy of Christ: Comparing Son, Angels, and Moses
This lesson covers the background of the book of Hebrews and analyzes key passages in chapters 1–3, emphasizing Christ’s ultimate supremacy. The primary purpose of this letter is to warn believers against apostasy—the willful abandonment of faith—and urge them not to return to Judaism. We established that Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of the Father, sharing the divine nature. God chose to perfect Jesus through suffering as the only way to lead many children to glory, affirming His role as the perfect mediator and redeemer. The lesson then shifts focus to demonstrate Jesus’ superiority over Moses, highlighting Christ’s unique dual role as both Apostle and High Priest. Ultimately, Jesus is counted worthy of greater glory than Moses because He is the faithful Son and Builder over God’s house, and we are considered His house only if we hold fast to our confidence and hope.
